CRAFTY IDEAS FOR EXPERIENCES AND GIFTS THIS AUTUMN

Whether you are looking to earn some new skills or create a handmade gift for someone special, Carlton Towers has some great ideas for one day workshops during the Autumn.

Courses include how to make a pencil drawing, creating festive macrame´ decorations, candle making and reindeer willow weaving. Aimed at all levels of ability, the classes are led by experts in their fields with all materials provided to produce a special item to take home.

 

The courses available are

·       Pencil Drawing Workshop – October 25 & November 23 – led by award winning artist Heather Burton – includes quick impressions, longer sketches and a few surprises. Costs £65 per person and includes light lunch.

·       Candle Making Workshop – November 15 – led by Jenni at Flickery Flames – the course includes creating a full-size candle, four tealights and snap bar choosing a variety of colours and fragrances. Costs £75 per person including a cream tea in the Duchesses Dining Room.

·       Festive Macrame Decorations Workshop – November 22 – set in the Stables Tearoom, led by York designer Hannah Sibai of Dear Prudence Macrame´, learn how to make three different styles of macrame decorations. Costs £60 per person including cream tea

·       Reindeer Willow Weaving Workshop – November 30 - make the ultimate festive decoration, an 127cm willow deer complete with antlers. Learn the basics of random weave and creating sculpture with willow without a metal frame. Costs £125 per person for a full day event including a light lunch.
