Spectacle of Equitation - Celebrating the Year of the Horse

Join us for an unforgettable family day out as Spectacle of Equitation, proudly run by Steelehorse – Understanding Horsemanship, brings its world-class equine show to Yorkshire in celebration of the Year of the Horse.

Saturday 15th August

10am - 4pm

Renowned for captivating audiences at prestigious UK events including The Game Fair and Blenheim Palace, this is far more than a traditional equestrian display. Spectacle of Equitation is a thrilling blend of heroic storytelling, breathtaking horsemanship, fire stunts, music, and theatrical spectacle — designed to enchant children and adults alike.

Led by a charismatic narrator, the show unfolds as a live legend inspired by the Olympic flame. Audiences are encouraged to join in — cheering heroes, booing villains, and becoming part of the action as the extraordinary bond between horse and rider takes centre stage.

What the Whole Family Can Enjoy

  • Spectacular equine performances blending traditional Iberian horsemanship with modern theatre

  • Advanced high-school movements performed under saddle and in-hand

  • Bridleless and bareback riding showcasing trust, harmony, and skill

  • Horses and dancers moving together in perfect synchronisation

  • Fire performers and daring stunts that ignite excitement and drama

  • Military-style formations, traditional garrocha, and classical movements including bowing, kneeling, and laying down

  • World-class international riders and performers

Each performance features 4–6 magnificent horses and runs for approximately 30 minutes, with two shows on the day.

Have a Go! Hobby Horse Arena

As part of this special celebration, families are invited to take part in the ‘Have a Go’ Hobby Horse Arena with Hobby Horse Adventures — a fun, interactive space where children can gallop, jump, and play. It’s the perfect way for young visitors to experience the joy of horses in a safe, imaginative, and engaging environment.

A little about your ticket(s)

• Due to the nature of our business, all bookings and tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE & NON- TRANSFERABLE to alternative dates or events.

• Some of our events are outdoors which (being British) we will be holding these come rain or shine - So please make sure you just wear appropriate clothing for the forecast

• Carlton Towers is not always as accessible in all areas so please just make sure you check with the team if you have any mobility issues

• In the unfortunate circumstance that you can no longer attend, we offer a gesture of goodwill policy, that allows you to gift the original date/booking into an alternative name. Providing we are notified within 48 hours via email

• For events which include food please ensure you have advised the team of any dietary requirement or allergies at least 72 hours prior to arrival

• Tickets are only refundable if we (the venue) cancel or reschedule the event, under severe/unfortunate circumstances, of which you will be notified in advance of the event date via email and social media

• Unless stipulated on your ticket please be advised that you cannot bring your own food or beverages onsite or in the grounds and we reserve the right to ask you to remove these

• Some of our events require you to share a table with other guests and please ensure you explicitly advise the team if you would prefer not to do so

• As designated organiser please can you make sure your guests are aware of these terms
