We invite you to share in the delights of our kitchen, tearoom and cookery school. Enjoy locally sourced produce, private dining, tasting events, vineyard tours and food markets.

DINING EXPERIENCES

For a limited number of nights throughout the year, our chefs prepare a selection of menus to celebrate the seasonal flavours of the estate. Hosted in the magnificent Staterooms, the dining experiences are open to individual bookings’ and coincides with our Luxury Stay experiences.

Between the opulence of the house and the tranquility of The Walled Garden Vineyard, there is a foodie experience that appeals to all tastes.

COOKs - the carlton school of food

Located in the original servants’ quarters, this is the place where dishes are created, served and celebrated. The fabulous kitchen comes complete with a walk-in larder, a game-preparation area and a pastry kitchen. The school is often used by private parties and fun team-building challenges, whilst our in-house and visiting celebrity chefs host a range of professional cooking tutorials throughout the year.

PRIVATE DINING

Guests may prefer maximum flexibility when hosting their wedding or event at Carlton Towers – choosing private hire of our State Rooms, whilst bringing their own suppliers and caterers. 

Alternatively, our chefs will create bespoke menus fit for any occasion. We regularly cater for intimate dinners in the Duchess’s Dining Room or grand banquets in the opulent State Rooms.

STABLES TEAROOM

The original stables have been transformed into our charming tearoom overlooking the glorious Walled Garden Vineyard. Quintessentially English, the tearoom sells an array of homemade bakes and tasty treats. The rose-filled terrace looks out over our vines, making it the idyllic backdrop for your visit.

MEET Our chefs

DAYLE HUGHES

I would describe myself as an enthusiastic and proud-to-be-Yorkshire chef with over 25 years’ experience! Classical and modern cooking are my biggest interests, combined with using the freshest seasonal ingredients. I love nothing more than creating dishes inspired by produce from our Walled Garden Vineyard, and foraging from the estate. When I’m not working, you’ll find me spending time with my family, playing my guitar or listening to music with a nice pint of bitter.

DAVID MAXEY

Working over 25 years in the industry, I’ve held posts in all areas of a professional kitchen. I’m passionate about working with fresh, home-grown and locally sourced ingredients, to produce flavourful and inspiring dishes. Coming to Carlton Towers has definitely been the highlight of my career. Gerald and Emma are a delight to work for and I’m proud to be a part of this amazing team, and I intend to be for many more years to come.

ROBERT BELLERBY

I discovered my passion for Mediterranean cooking whilst working in Prague – creating fresh pasta dishes in an Italian restaurant before moving on to cooking authentic tapas for a Spanish eatery. However, my personal love of Asian food has flourished since I committed to a vegan lifestyle. Working at Carlton Towers, with the variety of food experiences it offers, means I get to put all my skills to good use and work alongside a highly experienced team.
