Fishing
The Carlton Towers Lake is what coarse anglers would refer to as a classic “Estate Lake”. It has long had a famous reputation for its tench fishing and used to be fished by angling legends such as Dr Barry Rickards and his friend Ray Webb during 1960s and 1970s. Today, the lake still holds a good head of tench, together with roach, perch, pike and carp.
The main lake and the small pond on the other side of the Carlton to Snaith main road are let to Gary Howard, who also runs a number of other carp waters within Yorkshire. Gary has ambitious plans to develop and improve the carp fishing on the lake.
