Do you sell shooting to individual ‘guns’?
We don’t sell shooting to individual ‘guns’. The shooting at Carlton Towers is sold by the day and so we cater for an individual, who is in a position to put a team of ‘guns’ together. We would suggest that the minimum number of ‘guns’ required for a day’s shooting would be six, but we can cater for up to ten. Eight ‘guns’ shooting is really the optimum number. We welcome enquiries from both private and corporate clients.
How much will it cost to take a day’s shooting at Carlton Towers?
Game shooting on the Carlton Towers Estate starts at £6,000 including VAT, which includes morning drinks in the field and either a midday lunch, or a meal after the days shooting.
Can my shooting party stay at Carlton Towers itself?
Shoot parties have been hosted at Carlton Towers for generations, though in the old days these were solely the preserve of the Fitzalan Howard family and their close friends. Today, the fact that your party can stay overnight on the Estate, and enjoy this same private accommodation and with fine dining, is one of our unique selling points.

When should I aim to book game shooting at Carlton Towers?
There is now no availability for game shooting at Carlton Towers in the 2011/12 season, but we would be delighted to discuss providing one or more full days for your party for next season 2012/13.
We could currently provide a quotation for next season, based on your requirement, up to the 30th June 2012. Unless there is a cancellation, committing to game shooting after this date, can be difficult.
As Carlton Towers is also a popular wedding venue, please bear in mind that the house may have already been booked well in advance. For this reason, we generally shoot mid-week and shooting parties requiring accommodation are best booked Monday to Thursday inclusive.
How testing is the game shooting at Carlton?
In terms of terrain, the Estate at Carlton Towers is on the level, and whilst we may not match the hilly terrain of some North Yorkshire Estate’s, that doesn’t mean we can’t still provide great sport. With many small fields and tall hedges, the farmland ideally suits partridge, but our pheasants frequently surprise and defeat the experienced gun too.
We recognise the benefit of one to one supervision for novice shots and we are happy to arrange this, as may be required. If you are relatively new to shooting, you will not be daunted by the game shooting at Carlton Towers; similarly if you are an experienced shot, we are sure you will really enjoy your day with us too.
Increasingly, we find that a good day’s shooting is not measured by the final bag, but rather the overall experience of the day. Throughout, out team will do all they can to make the day special, as we would very much like guns to return and shoot with us again.
Do you do any other forms of shooting on the Estate?
Yes, we can put on a variety of days from clay pigeon shooting, duck/goose flighting, introduction to game shooting to shoot/cook/eat days.
With the exception of duck/goose flighting, these are all party booking days, rather than individual places, but once we have interest from a party of ten or more just contact us with your requirements and we will let you know how we can help and what this will cost.
Our accommodation allows us to cater for parties from further afield, so Carlton Towers makes an ideal venue for those looking for a completely fresh venue and experience.
